Carol Braithwaite for Willaston & Thornton
A record of action and a promise of more
Carol is a well-known figure around Willaston and Thornton. She has been working hard for the communities here for years.
Carol Braithwaite is a proven local champion with a track record of standing up for communities across Willaston, Thornton and Burton. She represents Little Neston on Neston Town Council and currently serves as Deputy Mayor of Neston, bringing experience, energy and credibility to everything she does. Carol has worked directly with residents through the Willaston Community Partnership Group, set up a local councillor surgery alongside the PCSO in Burton, and made sure people know how to have their say on the new Local Plan. She’s also successfully led action at Town Council level - introducing a motion to press the Government to exempt Town and Parish Councils from the National Insurance increase - showing she knows how to turn local concerns into real pressure for change.
Deeply rooted in the community, Carol volunteers with a charity supporting refugees to settle and integrate, represents residents at the local Police Cohesion Group, and is leading the fight to protect neighbourhood policing. With Cheshire’s PCSOs set to be slashed from 87 to just 27, Carol is clear that Willaston & Thornton deserve better: more bobbies on the beat, trusted police counters in every neighbourhood, and policing people can rely on. Her priorities are laser-focused on what matters locally
- fixing broken highways and dangerous roads like Mud House Lane;
- championing local voices through a Willaston Parish Council and strong residents’ associations; and
- protecting Burton’s conservation status, wildlife and village character.
On January 22th, Carol Braithwaite is the Liberal Democrat candidate who will speak up, take action, and put the community first.
